Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrimage Year

October 23, 2016 - October 29, 2017

On October 23, 2016, Archbishop Aquila opened the Fatima Pilgrimage Year and consecrated the Holy Door at Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

A plenary indulgence was attached to the Holy Door. Learn about indulgences and how to receive a plenary indulgence for yourself or a departed loved one.

Look closely at the Holy Door carvings created by Joseph Sikora, now found on the wall of the main vestibule. Deepen your understanding of their symbolism and iconography.

Visit the holy relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, two of the Fatima shepherd children, recently canonized by Pope Francis on May 13, 2017.

Following the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions, the Pilgrimage Year ended and the Holy Door was closed on October 29, 2017.

May 13, 2017 Centennial of Our Lady’s Apparition

by Stan Collins

On May 13, 2017, in Fatima, Portugal, Pope Francis canonized Francisco and Jacinta Marto at the beginning of a very special Mass. The two children, along with their cousin Lucia, were witnesses to the first of several visions of the Virgin Mary one hundred years earlier. Later that day, approximately 4800 miles west, another centennial celebration of the visions of Our Lady of Fatima was reaching a high point. Since May of 2015, the parishioners of Lakewood’s Our Lady of Fatima (OLF) parish, along with Catholics worldwide, have been marking the centennial by reciting over one million rosaries. Additionally, OLF sponsored a concert of special music celebrating Our Lady, and Archbishop Samuel Aquila designated the parish as a pilgrimage site with ... [Read More]

Fatima Centennial Concert

by Jenna Ebener

On March 12, 2017, I had the joy of experiencing the Centennial Concert honoring Our Lady of Fatima. Musicians from all over the area united at Our Lady of Fatima, who was host to the Colorado School of Mines Brass and Choir, the Cathedral Choir from the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the Southwest Musicians and the Mariachi Ensemble of Metropolitan State University, and, of course, Our Lady of Fatima Choir ... I entered the church with my beautifully-designed program and was immediately immersed in the deep tones of a cappella singers, who, through their layers of singing, make it difficult to believe ... [Read More]  [Watch Video]

Statue Dedication

By Woody Ritchey

October 13, 2016 will be remembered as one of the great moments in the faith history of the people of Our Lady of Fatima as we held a celebratory Mass for the dedication of the new statue of Our Lady of Fatima. The statue came to Fatima through the generosity of the Black family of Cheyenne Wyoming, including her complete restoration. She is a beautiful reminder of the visit Our Lady made to the children of Fatima and is a wonderful addition to our sacred gathering space. There were approximately 200 parishioners in attendance for the Mass, and the statue of Our Lady was processed with all the reverence and solemnity one would expect of such a precious article of our faith and parish life ... [Read More]
